Hostgator telephone support - A joke
I am having severe issues with my hosting company. I have two accounts with them. A dedicated server and a shared account. They continually screw up billing and indicate that it is my fault.
Stupid things that Hostgator Support will say:
- We cannot send you an email we do not have those capabilities.
- I know we did not invoice you for that account for 4 months. That is not our fault.
- Our billing software is antiquated.
- I can't help it you don't understand your invoices, I don't understand it either.
- Sure our website says 24/7 phone support but this cannot be handled over the phone you must send us an email.
What really amused me is they could not send me an email with a link for a web form they insist must be done to take advantage of their awesome customer support and account features, but the only way to get someone on the phone to intelligently discuss my invoices with them was to send an email.
Even worse than this is they owe me hundreds of dollars in affiliate commissions and they want to harass me because they failed to bill a 24.95 invoice for 4 months. Which I would of gladly paid if an invoice would of been emailed to me.
All of my income is generated online and I chose Hostgator from recommendations of others and their proclamations of excellent customer support. I guess their support is good if you are hosting one account on a shared environment, but if you are spending $200 + a month with them you you do not have access to decent support relative to your monthly investment with them. Now if it was just a $4.95 a month hosting account it would be understandable.
